THE BUZZ: A heavy-hitting cast of lead and support players has piqued online interest in Dean Wright’s take on the Cristeros War, but reviews for the director’s epic have been harsh. We’re surprised his visual effects background isn’t put to use here.Yes, they are but not in the sense of Irish catholics. In Mexico’s case is more of a tradition rather than part of their identity (Contrary to what Hollywood shows). The actual war was fought by educated people wanted the catholic church out of political power versus the country-side uneducated people whose only way out of poverty was the church. Look it up. It’s actually an interesting piece of history.
